Edward Grant "Ed" Barrow papers

Abstract

This collection contains the papers of Edward Grant "Ed" Barrow, who held numerous positions in professional baseball in the first two decades of the 20th century before entering the front office for the New York Yankees in 1921. This collection contains a variety of Barrow's personal papers from his time as Yankees president and continue on to the time of his death in 1953. These papers consist of correspondence, legal documents, telegrams, clippings, photos, and other ephemera.

F.C. Lane Correspondence papers

Abstract

This collection contains correspondence between F.C. Lane and numerous baseball players and officials between 1911 and 1936. Lane was the editor for Baseball Magazine during that time, and most of the correspondence with players referred to their off-season activities, some of which he included in issues of the magazine. Other themes that received attention included betting in ball parks, the World Series, the Federal League, and World War I.

George Burke and George Brace photographic materials

The collection consists of full-length studio portraits and posed outdoor action scenes of both Major and Minor League players in the National League, American Association, and the Player's League. The materials date from 1886 to 1890.

Abstract

This collection contains 16mm film reels of various lengths that are related to the Baseball Hall of Fame and Cooperstown, NY. The films were generated by news photographers and editors working for WKTV, the NBC-affiliated television station in Utica, NY, USA in the years between 1955 and 1982. Some of the films are the original content filmed by the camera operators and some of the films are edited news pieces used within the news programs broadcast by the station.
